Grindelwald is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn is a UNESCO World Heritage Natural Site.

Grindelwald is perhaps best known for it's stunning location in the shadow of The Eiger and is the usual starting point for climbing ascents. Although better known as a winter tourist destination, it is also a popular summer activity resort, ideal for all the famliy.

Winter Sports:
Skiers have the option of skiing on the "First" mountain which is prefered by the locals or going onto the Männlichen and Kleine Scheidegg which connects to Wengen. If you are feeling adventurous or just can't wait for the snow, there is some amazing heli-skiing in the Bernese Oberland area. We can help arrange the right trip, whether you want to find glorious 25km off-piste trails around Männlichen, or simply take in the sights by helicopter.

Snowboarders will no doubt enjoy the half pipes, snow parks and jumps that can be found at First, Kleine Scheidegg and Mürren.

The surrounding area is also famous for the dedicated toboggan trails that can be enjoyed by all.

Summer Activities:
Grindelwald is an increasingly popular summer destination, and unlike some ski resorts, there is a wealth of things to do during the summer. The surrounding area is most famous for its excellent hiking trails and challenging climbing. Other popular activities include cycling, golf, tennis and paragliding.

Interlaken is just a short train journey away and there is plenty to do on the water. Whether you enjoy fishing, sailing, kayaking, rafting or water-skiing, it makes for a great day.

The Jungfraubahn railway is open all year round, and the journey from Grindelwald to Jungfraujoch, "Top of Europe" is spectacular.

Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe:
At 3454 metres, Jungfraujoch is the highest-altitude railway station in Europe and home to the Sphinx observation tower. With snow and ice guaranteed all year round there are lots of activities to enjoy. Visit www.panoramaphoto.ch to see the great views.
